bébé nathan was only five days old when i had the chance to photograph him.  he was the first baby i (gently!) placed in a basket to take a picture of him!!  he was so little, just out of his maman's belly, and even after having had 3 children myself, i was very nervous about disturbing him or making him feel uncomfortable.  but he was far from feeling disturbed and he never fussed, he actually looked like he was enjoying the experience!  he also seemed to have decided what pose to assume and so he suck on his hand most of the time, and no matter how many times we tried to change his hand's position, he would put it back in his mouth.  determined wee thing! i have met him many times since then, and he is still so laid back and smiles non stop. 

well, merci caroline, you were such a relaxed and obliging mother.  you provided me with a lovely experience.

gorgeous george

i am very lucky to have several friends who have just recently had a little baby.  

jess is one of them and in november last year she had the most gorgeous little boy called george.  what's even more lucky is that george is very laid back and so we had a four hour photo shoot and george obliged us very patiently.  actually, i think he just slept through the whole session!

spring and stella

i had so much fun photographing stella in the orchard at spring time.  her mum, my dear friend zoe, is a stylist at heart.  she picked the venue (the orchard is next to their house), chose stella's clothes and the props, and then we had a couple of hours of pure fun.  stella was one of my cooperative 'model' so far, like her mum, very creative.

hello dear readers of my new blog!
i know the title of this post is a bit of a cliché, but i really live by it.  it would be such a waste to end up not having done what you love, and yet it is so easy to get bogged down with life's everyday demands and forget the important bits that make us get up in the morning.
so.  i love photographing.  everything.  with a real passion for people.  i love photographing them.  but what i also really enjoy is interacting with the people i photograph.  it's fun, interesting, uplifting.  it's what makes photographing people so different to anything else you may choose to photograph.
i have been photographing all sorts of subjects over the years, from landscapes to food, mainly for fun. and i have learned so much on the way.  i have learned to photograph (that's always a good start!), i have discovered my style and with it, a sense of self confidence in my work.   there will always be more to learn, but isn't that where a big part of the fun lies?
and now, it is time to take my photography to another level and try and make a living of it.  even if it is only an excuse to take more photographs!
in this blog, i will show you mainly photos of people, all sorts of people, gorgeous babies, cheeky toddlers, fun kids, lovely families, and very soon i will post the photos of my very first wedding as 'the' photographer, in the magical Hokianga in new zealand.  
please, do come and say hi now and then, it's so much fun sharing with other people.  i will cherish your feedback, always respect your point of view, and i definitely would enjoy a good chat.
