simple portraits - so powerful

Sometimes, the most low key, simple portraits are the most powerful.
I did this series of portraits of my kids to put on my walls, I am thinking of having them printed really big.  I like the two colour effect, nearly monochrome and yet not quite.
Keeping things to a minimum (no props, or just something that is part of their every day life like Mr Doudou!) helped me capture their true personality, beyond what you see.

heather + andrew's wedding in Hawke's Bay

When Heather and I met the first time in a cafe in town I knew then that her and her fiance Andrew's wedding was going to be a delight for me to photograph.  Heather had ideas about her wedding that I could totally relate to, the locations she was thinking of for the photos were places I really like myself, the colour scheme sounded fabulous in general and from a photographer's point of view.  All of these ideas formulated in a very relaxed and pleasant way, which added to my initial enthusiasm.  And I wasn't disapointed!
It was a lovely day and I had lots of fun photographing Heather and Andrew and their family and friends.
